The AKiAKi app connects you with locals that are sharing their location to take your requests from businesses you may need something from.
Oh! And we like to pronounce it: “¡aquí aquí!”
Click on the sign up button on the upper right corner. Use either your Gmail or Facebook login to access the app. Once you have verified your phone number, you are free to access the app and see who is checked in.
Someone who “checks in” at a local business/hot spots in order to take requests from other locals like you.
1. Make sure you are signed in to AKíAKí.
2. On the homescreen, Tap “Request”
3. The AKiAKi map will load and display locations in which AKi’ers are “checked in” and that are “roaming” nearby you.
4. Use the AKiAKi List View near the middle (<<) to load a list view of locations in which AKi’ers are checked in.
5. Browse the map by pinching-to-zoom and dragging with one finger to navigate.
6. Tap a location or vehicle (square photo or car on the map) to view checked-in AKi’ers and roamers and place your request.
If nobody is “checked in” or roaming nearby, this allows you to place requests to the AKiAKicommunity for AKi’ers to pickup if they happen to enter the area. You will request what you want, where to get it, how long you are willing to wait, and the dollar amount you are willing to pay for the AKi’er to bring it to you.
Unlike “old-fashioned” delivery apps, there are no marked up prices or excess fees propagated by incorporating commissions and business APIs with our software because we connect you directly to Aki’ers.
We believe Aki’ers and Requesters should determine their own fees since you are the people engaging in Community Commerce™. Aki’ers name their own fee when they check in and that is all you pay (plus the tip because you’re a good person). Requesters can name their own fee by submitting their request on the map without selecting a specific business or Aki’er.
If there is an order that needs to be fixed or canceled, go to your AKiAKi app and select “Contact Support” to speak with one of our representatives.
If you are using a bank or debit card to complete the transaction:
1. After you submit a request, your bank account will be temporarily debited $75.00 until the request is fulfilled or canceled.
2. The Aki’er will enter and submit the total of any service/product pickup from the receipt from the establishment. Note: The receipt image is stored for reconciling any issues with the request or associated transaction.
3. After the Aki’er submits the receipt, you will have the option to add a tip to the displayed total.
4. If the final total (Receipt total + Aki’er Fee + Tip) is less than $75.00, you will receive a refund of the difference. Example: If your final total was $23.21, your account would show a debit of $75.00 and a refund of $51.79.
5. If the final total (Receipt total + Aki’er Fee + Tip) is more than $75.00, you will receive a second debit for the difference. Example: If your final total was $83.30, your account would show a debit of $75.00 and a second debit of $8.30.
If you are using a credit card to complete the transaction:
1. After you submit a request, your credit card will be authorized for $75.00 until the request is fulfilled or canceled.
2. The Aki’er will enter and submit the total of any service/product pickup from the receipt from the establishment. Note: The receipt image is stored for reconciling any issues with the request or associated transaction.
3. After the Aki’er submits the receipt, you will have the option to add a tip to the displayed total.
4. The final total (Receipt total + Aki’er Fee + Tip) will be charged to the credit card and the authorization will be removed.
1. Create an account or login.
2. In the upper-right corner of the homescreen, tap “Check in”
3. Enter your details.
4. Await approval via email
If you are an approved AKi’er you can check in at a local business or hotspot to share your location and receive requests. You determine where you check in (receive requests), how long you’ll be there, how many requests you are willing to take, how far you are willing to go and how much you need to make for the request (your fee).
As an AKi’er, you also have the option to receive requests from anywhere, not just places you check in. If you’re a gig-driver, this is like “old-fashioned” delivery apps where you get orders just because you’re available. You still control how long you’ll be roaming, how many requests you are willing to take, and how far you are willing to go.
When you are approved to become an Aki’er, you will be guided through the setup of your Stripe account. Once you’ve connected your bank account, Stripe will issue you an “AKíAKí soft card” which can be immediately added to your digital wallet. Use this digital card to pay for customer requests. A “hard card” (physical card) can also be requested from Stripe to use at locations that do not accept digital payments. AKíAKí cards, issued by Stripe, are only usable during, and for, active requests.
When you apply to become an Aki’er, you will setup an account with Stripe and Stripe will send deposits to your provided bank account.
